Authorship and contribution policy
The Ingeniería Investiga journal follows the recommendations of the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE), which establishes that authorship is based on four criteria:
1. Significant contribution in the conception/design of the study, data collection, or data analysis/interpretation.
2. Contribution in the drafting or critical revision of the manuscript.
3. Final approval of the manuscript for publication.
4. Responsibility for the accuracy and integrity of all aspects of the research.
All those designated as authors must meet all four criteria for authorship, and all those who meet all four criteria must be identified as authors. An author should be able to identify which co-authors are responsible for other specific parts of the paper and should have confidence in the integrity of their co-authors' contributions. Those who do not meet the four criteria should be thanked in acknowledgements.
Once the paper has been submitted, it will not be possible to make changes in the order or number of authors, so all authorship issues must be agreed upon before the manuscript is submitted for the first time.
By submitting the manuscript, it is assumed that each and every author has had full access to all the data in the study and assumes full and public responsibility for the trustworthiness and accuracy of the data analysis. For this reason, Ingeniería Investiga journal declines any responsibility for possible conflicts arising from the authorship of the papers published in it.
In order to reduce possible disputes due to authorship conflicts, authors interested in publishing in the journal should describe the contribution of each author according to the CRediT Taxonomy (Contributor Roles Taxonomy), which follows the recommendations of the ICMJE. This taxonomy should be sent together with the application files and should be read and approved by all authors involved.
