Submission checklist

Authors are required to check that their submission meets all of the elements shown below. Submissions that do not meet these guidelines will be rejected.

  • The submission file is in Microsoft Word format, with 1.5 line spacing in paragraphs, 12-point Calibri Light font.
  • The article has been structured according to the sections described for the article type, prior to submission.
  • The maximum length of the abstract is 200 words (in English and Spanish).
  • The key words are between three and five, separated using the spelling and punctuation mark, semicolon ";" and lowercase. If needed, short phrases describing significant topics of the manuscript are included (using the terms of the UNESCO Thesaurus as area of knowledge).
  • If acronyms are used, the name will be written in full the first time it appears, followed by the acronym in parentheses.
  • Charts and tables are placed in the appropriate places in the text, rather than at the end, and are in the required format.
  • Quotations and references comply with the criteria established in the current and recent edition of the APA Norms.
  • References provide URLs and DOIs whenever possible and work properly.
  • The text adheres to the requirements summarized in the guide for authors, which the journal follows.
  • Authors are aware that the journal does not charge fees for submitting articles, nor for publishing them once accepted. Nor does it charge readers for accessing its contents.
  • The authors have read and accepted the responsibilities that guarantee the ethical principles of scientific publication.
  • Authors declare not to violate any ethical issue (such as plagiarism or self-plagiarism, fictitious authorship, data manipulation, duplicate publication, fragmentary publication, or unauthorized copying of third-party material).
  • The manuscript has not been previously published or submitted for consideration by any other journal in parallel.
  • There is no conflict of interest among the authors of the article, and all are responsible for the submission. No additional authors may be added during the editing process.
  • The authors have verified that the manuscripts comply with the guidelines of this list and other provisions of the Ingeniería Investiga journal and that if they do not comply with them, they will be rejected without any evaluation. The reason for the rejection will be notified. However, they may resubmit it once corrected.
  • The authors grant the publication rights to the Ingeniería Investiga journal to reproduce, publish, edit, fix, communicate and transmit publicly their work, including texts, graphics and photographs, in any format or platform including the necessary technical modifications to circumvent technological measures with the express obligation to respect and mention the corresponding credit.
