Abstract

Being overweight brings symptoms increasing the risk of heart disease, high blood pressure, diabetes, musculoskeletal disorders, among other diseases. In this writing we identify the most frequent musculoskeletal diseases linked to being overweight, as well as recognizing the signs and symptoms caused by being overweight.

Several research works on overweight were used and how this affected the musculoskeletal condition, leaving in total only 6 works of those that we used in the research taking into account different criteria that were complemented in the presented article, different symptoms of overweight could be found such as inflammation and chronic pain, high levels of maximum plantar pressure and joint stress, taking into account that these symptoms lead to some diseases such as fibromyalgia, diseases of the knee, hip and lumbar spine.
