Abstract

The production of dogmatic theses in Latin American law schools has significantly declined in recent decades. This article explores the underlying causes of this phenomenon from a methodological and epistemological perspective, revealing how the absence of a strong research culture in the legal field adversely affects the quality of legal education, professional practice, and the development of law. Drawing on contemporary theoretical frameworks, the article highlights the need to revitalize dogmatic legal research as a core component of legal science, and to reform legal education in order to foster rigorous, critical, and innovative academic output.
