INTERVIEW WITH FERNANDA VOMERO, FROM BRASIL, ABOUT THE EXPERIENCE OF THE ARTISTIC RESIDENCE "PASCUA DEL ANACO" IN TACNA

Abstract

What was the motivation that prompted you to apply for the "Pascua del Anaco" project?
MFV: I work as a stage provocateur at Companhia de Teatro Heliopolis, in São Paulo, and as an event collaborator with other theater companies for years. In addition to that, my PhD research, at the Universidade de São Paulo, which is in the line of theatrical pedagogy and focuses on issues related to Palestine and Latin America. The proposal of the project "Pascua del Anaco" to promote an artistic residency in Tacna, Peru, with a view towards the Andean theatricalities, was revealed to be very closely linked to my artistic and academic concerns. It was the possibility of uniting experiences in theatrical pedagogy, through the practice of performance, and issues of theatricality within the framework of a decolonial thought, that is, a reflection beyond the epistemology and conceptualization considered "Western" .
