Abstract

The objective of this research was to determine the relationship between maternal overprotection and the development of autonomy during the non-face-to-face modality in elementary school students of an educational institution. Methodology; it is basic, with a quantitative approach, correlational level and non-experimental design. The sample population consisted of 156 elementary school students. The survey technique was used, while the instruments were the questionnaire for the variable of maternal overprotection developed by Benavides Ramírez & Ramos Saavedra, (2017) and the observation guide for the variable of autonomy developed by Josselyn Milagros Maldonado Ore (2021). The scale used was Likert type with three categories. Results: With respect to maternal protection, 91.59% were at a low level and 8.41% at a medium level. On the other hand, 90.65% presented a high level and 8.41% a medium level related to the development of autonomy. Conclusion; there is a significant relationship between the development of autonomy and maternal compulsion during the non-face-to-face modality in the students (P-value = 0.000).
