Abstract

Man evolves in parallel in the processes of neurological maturation, as well as in the progression of psychomotor control (muscular movement of the head, arms and legs) in a synchronous manner. Objective; to determine the effectiveness of the strategy "I play and learn" in the gross psychomotor development in the areas of laterality, balance, spatial and temporal in 3-year-old children. Material and Methods; quantitative approach, pre-experimental design. The sample consisted of 15 children. The instrument used was a checklist, "I play and learn" Strategy Guide. It was applied to the same sample in two moments, one before and one after the intervention strategy. Results: 86.67% have a low level of notion of laterality, 53.33% have a low level of notion of balance, 53.33% have a high level of spatial notion, 60.00% have a low level of temporal notion, 73.33% have a high level. After the application of the strategy in the exit test, 100% of the children presented a high level of all dimensions. Conclusion: The application of the "I Play and Learn" strategy improves the level of gross psychomotor development of 3-year-old children.
