Objective: To determine the influence of an educational intervention program "School of Back", applied in students suffering from chronic lower back pain of a higher technological institute in health in Lima. Peru. Materials and methods: It is a quantitative study, of pre experimental type, of longitudinal section. The study sample included 205 students from a Higher Technological Institute in Lima, Peru, which was obtained through a non-probabilistic sampling at the convenience of the authors. 12 learning sessions were taken into account, each learning session lasted 45 minutes. The instruments used were: data collection form, analogous pain scale (measuring pain intensity), Oswestry test (to measure the degree of functional disability due to low back pain), Questionnaire for back care in the daily life (measure knowledge about back pain). The Student T Test was used, the data obtained were from December 2017 to June 2018. Results. A significant difference was demonstrated between the averages of the pretest and the post test, the program of educational intervention influences, in the decrease of the lumbar pain (p = 0,000), reduction of the physical incapacity (p = 0,000), improves the care of the back: Postural care in class (p = 0.000), postural behavior in class (p = 0.000), factors related to sitting (p = 0.000), ergonomic material (p = 0.000). Conclusions: It is very important because it allows to promote and protect the health of the community of students of a higher technological health institute.
