Objective: To know through the radiographic evaluation the quality of the obturation of the duct treatments performed by the undergraduate students of the dental teaching clinic of the Private University of Tacna during the period 2015-II-2016.
Material and Method: Observational descriptive study, 543 radiographs were collected all periapical radiographs taken by preclinical students in the conduct of root canal treatments, radiographs were observed based on the length and density of the obturation and subsequent determination of the shutter quality.
Results: The most frequent piece of duct treatments in the upper jaw was the incisors in 36.6%, in the lower jaw the frequent piece with duct treatments was the first molars with 29.1%, the pieces being 12.15 and 46 the most recurrent in the endodontics service. Of the total ducts evaluated, 70.97% had an acceptable length. Of the total ducts evaluated, 80.8% had a uniform filling and 19.2% had a poor density. The quality of obturation of the duct treatments performed by 7th grade students was acceptable in 74.7% and of the 8th grade students was acceptable in 52.2%.
Conclusion: The total quality of filling of the root canals was acceptable in 61.7% of the treatments performed.
