The entrepreneurial spirit: A determining factor in those who manage to establish a business

Abstract

The study was carried out with the purpose of identifying and determining the entrepreneurial ability that was decisive in those who managed to establish a business. It is an exploratory research of a cross-sectional analytical type. The study was carried out in a nonrandom sample of 66 students who are studying Business Engineering at the Faculty of Business Sciences of the Private University of Tacna. In the investigation, a questionnaire with multiple choice questions with a Likert scale from 1 to 5 was applied, which was subjected to an analysis of internal consistency or similarity between the items for which the Cronbach's Alpha coefficient was calculated, which demonstrated a high reliability index reaching a value of 0.93. A response rate of 99% was obtained from the virtual questionnaire. The results revealed that the entrepreneurial skills that are vital to ensure the success of a business are: entrepreneurship with (Mean=1.38), financial planning (Mean=1.33) and financial evaluation (Mean=1.25). Finally, the study concludes that the ability of the entrepreneurial spirit was the determining ability in the successful creation of businesses from the perception of the entrepreneurs who are trained in the Faculty of Business Sciences at the Private University of Tacna.
