Factors influencing the development of emotional intelligence in students of the Faculty of Business Sciences in Tacna

This study was carried out with the purpose of identifying and determining the elements that influence the progress of emotional intelligence in university students. The research adopted a non-experimental approach, using an explanatory relational design of a transversal nature. The sample consisted of 252 students from the Faculty of business Sciences, belonging to semesters IX and A questionnaire was used with multiple choice questions, interval scales and Likert-type questions. The response rate reached 95% of the total questionnaires distributed. The instrument was validated with a Cronbach's alpha coefficient of 0.906 and a McDonald's omega index of 0.909, supporting the robustness of the composite measure. The findings of the study indicated that the factors of Emotional Attention, Emotional Clarity and Emotional Repair influence the development of emotional intelligence, obtaining significant values for the Chi square statistic associated with each factor.
