The relevant management principles from the public manager's approach

Abstract

The article was carried out with the purpose of identifying the management principles that are relevant in the public management process, from the perception of professionals who pursue postgraduate studies in the master's degree in public management. In the context of public administration, there are many professionals who pursue postgraduate studies in order to prepare and achieve a successful contribution to improving the quality of public management. The type of research is exploratory, with a causal-explanatory descriptive design. The study sample was made up of 63 professionals from the public and private sectors, of which 35 are men and 28 women.  A mixed type instrument was administered with multiple choice questions with an interval scale and Likert scale type questions. The response rate was 95% of the total questionnaires sent. The instrument was validated with Cronbach's Alpha coefficient (0.865) and content validity with a KMO value and Barlet test of (0.621). The study concluded that the relevant management principles were planning and control, with a confidence level of 95%.
